  • Overview



    The Manufacturing Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing process data concentrating on the assembly process and fabrication process by performing the following duties. Plans, directs, and coordinates quality and manufacturing procedures designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.





    • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing processes, procedures, methods and tooling
    • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine routing standards and procedures to achieve quality cost and reliability expectancy of finished products
    • Analyzes and plans machine utilization, assembly line utilization, space requirements, workflow, designs layout of equipment and workspace, and manpower needs to meet efficiency, safety and quality objectives
    • Confers with management and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient assembly and production methods
    • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or tooling, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
    • Formulates and designs work stations, sequences and production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
    • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
    • Plans, promotes, and organizes work instructions and training activities to enhance product quality and reliability
    • Utilize standard work, flexible staffing plans, 5S and TWI methods
    • Assists in the investigation of customer complaints regarding quality and initiates corrective actions
    • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
    • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
    • Develops and maintains product assembly details and instructions to meet specifications
    • Analyzes processes and procedures to implement cost reduction initiatives



    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related degree required
    • 2 -- 3 years manufacturing engineering experience in a progressive manufacturing facility
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
    • Microsoft Office Suite Skills
    • Must have good decision making skills and strong interpersonal skills
    • Good Communication Skills
    • Solid Work Knowledge
    • Ergonomic principal awareness



    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
