  • Overview



    The Sr. Financial/Cost Analyst is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of cost standards, reconciliation of inventory to sub-ledgers, fixed asset accounting and project justification in a multi-location environment. Assist with monthly closing of the general ledger and reporting of Schiller Grounds Care financial results.



    • Working with manufacturing and FP&A, develop and maintain standard costs (material, labor and overhead), and support the organization in establishing and maintaining cost accounting processes and controls
    • Provide insight and analysis of manufacturing variances including PPV (Purchas Price Variance), Labor variance and Other Manufacturing Variance. Assist in analysis of operating performance to plan/forecast and prior year including trend analysis
    • Work with purchasing, analyze costs of materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses, including make vs. buy decision support. Identify savings opportunities
    • Analyze inventory data, identify and drive areas of opportunity for improvement. Perform E&O reserve analysis on quarterly basis
    • Work with manufacturing to administer the annual physical inventory and reconcile physical inventory with book including investigating variances
    • Complete journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation’s of assigned accounts monthly
    • Assist Accounting Manager with monthly financial reporting as well as annual audit/tax requirements
    • Maintain fixed assets and CIP, and assist management with project justification (NPV, IRR)
    • Maintain R&D project spend spreadsheet
    • Cross-train on Daily Reporting process as a back-up resource
    • Special projects and analyses as needed and other duties as assigned



    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 5+ years of cost accounting and analysis experience
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to travel up to 2-3 times per year
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills - team player
    • Proficient knowledge of integrated ERP systems
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Knowledge of manufacturing environment and related systems
    • Strong analytical ability to gather and interpret information
    • Ability to interact with all levels of Management
