    As the Regional Sales Manager – Distribution you will service the US and Canada distributors. You will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating sales and marketing functions within your distribution customer group. This role is expected to assist in setting strategy to attain company roles while building and maintaining strong relationships with the distribution network to best execute distributor’s plans that deliver the SGC objectives of: revenue, growth, profit, product placement, merchandising and promotion.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Successfully develop, grow and manage the distribution business in assigned territories and service existing accounts
    • RSM will meet and exceed annual sales goals as determined by management
    • Possess strong product knowledge of the specific Schiller products. RSM will also possess good knowledge of competitive products
    • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, features and benefits of new products and merchandising
    • Recommends changes in products, service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
    • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management
    • Establish displays and promotional material presentation; participate in trade shows and customer presentations
    • Train and instruct distributor representatives
    • Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills with all internal customers. Be knowledgeable on relevant business policies, programs, pricing, and products
    • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate to large or small groups with contemporary presentation skills
    • RSM will insure the Voice of Customer is represented in a balanced fashion to the company
    • Demonstrate a high degree of enthusiasm by motivating self, co-workers and customers
    • RSM will thoroughly understand and be able to read financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss, and inventory analysis as they relate to customer business and Schiller Grounds Care
    • Interface with Dealers / Distributors and territory RSM’s in developing strong relationships
    • Organize Distribution customer visits to meet with Company Management and develop the personal relationships which are critical to success
    • Demonstrate a strong business acumen with a thorough knowledge of the customer’s business plan, goals objectives and sales potential and align these with the integration of Schiller goals and objectives
    • Provide innovative and creative marketing, and finance recommendations to benefit both Schiller and distributors. Help develop creative and innovative solutions to specific customer issues, programs and business matters


    Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

    • BS in Agriculture, Marketing or Business
    • 5 plus years of experience in sales and/or marketing position in turf, agriculture or construction equipment markets with a focus on selling and marketing capital goods to large customers or buying groups
    • Must possess a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, willing to learn, goal oriented, and focused on growth
    • Due to the nature of the products and customer base, a strong mechanical aptitude is important.  Experience with outdoor power equipment or agriculture is a plus
    • Able and willing to travel extensively as required, (approximately 70+%)
    • Knowledge of OPE dealer needs and requirements
    • Proven track record of sales development and marketing creativity
    • Ability to safely demonstrate equipment
    • A clean driving record is a must
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to build good long-term, sustainable business relationships
    • Lives in a location that SGC logically determines will best serve our customers
