  • Overview

    The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient manufacturing operations by utilizing their engineering skills to include lean practices that meet key production metrics. Supervises the daily activities of the production floor in accordance with daily build schedule. Responsible for assuring production lines have trained staff, proper quantity of materials in a neat, safe working environment.

    Responsibilities

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Oversee production line operations to ensure maximum productivity and output
    • Train subordinates in the proper assembly requirements of products
    • Schedule daily work assignments in accordance with the weekly production build schedule
    • Work closely with manufacturing engineering to ensure that all production lines have proper tools, equipment, and documentation
    • Maintain and enforce strict adherence to manufacturing procedures in order to ensure high product integrity
    • Communicate all relevant production needs or issues to the appropriate department manager
    • Track and Report out Production KPI’s to the Operations Manager
    • Ensure proper in-process materials are available at work centers by working closely with material handlers
    • Ensures operational and safety policies and procedures are followed according to company policies and union contract
    • Support Operations Manager in other duties as required

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Associates Degree in related field required
    • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership skills within a union-assembly environment
    • Demonstrated lean proficient in concept methods and use of tools
    • Manufacturing/process engineering experience desired
    • Excellent planning and leadership capabilities combined with strong skills in manufacturing methods
    • Strong communicator with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to pay attention to detail
    • Strong PC skills with experience utilizing bar code printers/ label makers
